Are 5-hour ENERGY® Drinks Safe?
According to the website 5-hour ENERGY® is a proprietary blend of ingredients that form a liquid energy shot that will keep you alert and energized for hours. They claim it a special blend of essential vitamins nutrients and amino acids that contains no added sugars or herbal stimulants and it is only 4 calories. It also contains no animal products.
The recommended amount to take is 2 bottles daily spaced several hours apart. But you are advised to start off with a half a bottle at first until you see how your body tolerates it. The regular version contains about as much caffeine as a regular cup of coffee while the Extra strength contains as much as a 12-ounce cup, but they do offer a decaf version as well.

Are there any side effects to be concerned with?
The product contains (Vitamin B3) which is niacin if you are sensitive to niacin you may experience a niacin flush. In order to help avoid this, it is recommended that you take half a bottle at a time and save the rest for later. You could also just take the Decaf 5-hour ENERGY® shot drink containing no niacin.
